Good News | Alioth Won the Second Prize in the Final of the 2025 "Innovate in Shanghai" Biomedicine and Medical Materials Track Competition

On June 26th, the final of the Biomedicine - Medical Materials Track of the 2025 "Innovate in Shanghai" International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition came to a successful conclusion at the Hongkou Jinmao East China Conference Center. Among numerous outstanding projects, Alioth secured the second prize in the enterprise group with its highly innovative project featuring great industrialization prospects, titled "Research, Development, and Industrialization of High-performance Filter Membrane Materials for Biopharmaceutical Applications".

This competition was guided by the Organizing Committee Office of the Shanghai "Innovate in Shanghai" International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and jointly hosted by the Hongkou District Science, Technology and Economic Commission, Shanghai Fourth People's Hospital, and Shanghai Beizhonghuan Science and Technology Innovation Enterprise Development (Group) Co., Ltd. As a landmark event in the construction of Shanghai's science and technology innovation center, "Innovate in Shanghai" focused on the Biomedicine - Medical Materials Track for the first time. With the theme of "Biotech Innovation, Medical Materials Leading the Way," it centered on key areas such as cutting-edge medical technologies, intelligent materials, and organoid construction. Through collaborative medical-engineering innovation, it aimed to accelerate the transition of medical materials from the laboratory to industrialization.
Since its launch, the competition attracted 60 projects from around the world to register, with 20 projects advancing to the final. After an intense 8-hour competition at the final venue, one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and four merit awards were ultimately awarded in both the team and enterprise categories.

As a leading enterprise in pharmaceutical filtration process technology, Alioth has established a comprehensive industrial layout: It has brought together a team of membrane material scientists from both China and the United States, focusing on breaking through "chokepoint" technologies. With GMP-standard production bases set up in Lingang, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, equipped with process development laboratories, validation laboratories, and a professional filtration R&D center, Alioth has built an internationally competitive technological platform and solutions for pharmaceutical filtration materials, providing the industry with high-quality, stable, and efficient supply chain support.
This award not only recognizes Alioth's technological prowess but also serves as a full affirmation of the company's mission to "drive pharmaceutical process upgrades through foundational innovation." Looking ahead, Alioth will continue to increase its R&D investment and continuously explore the boundaries of innovation. At the same time, it will deepen strategic cooperation with pharmaceutical enterprises to jointly propel domestic filtration materials to overcome "chokepoint" technological bottlenecks, contributing scientific and technological strength to safeguarding the security of the biopharmaceutical supply chain and enhancing drug quality.
